Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Cut to: In the bedroom of Seamus; suite, Seamus is reclined on the adjustable bed, viewing something on his Screen, 'Watson.'
Watson: Message decrypted, beginning playback:
Voice: Greetings, Dr. O'Murchadha. Well, I have good news, bad news and good news.
Panel 2
Looking over Seamus' shoulder at the Screen. It has the same 'Message Master' interface we saw way back in strip 214 of Volume 1. Only now we can see the sender is Wei Yu-Ling.
Wei: The first good news is I was able to gain reading access to Bei Shuang-Kuang's financials.
Wei: The bad news is that not long afterward the breach was discovered at their end, and I had to back out so as not to suffer a trace-back.
Panel 3
Closer shot on the screen.
Wei: However I was able to download the information we need before the hack was discovered.
Wei: I can't use this in court, but now that I know the cut-outs that they used I can do a legal trace from the other end.
Panel 4
Murphy looks at the screen with thoughtful satisfaction as Wei concludes his report.
Wei: So, progress is being made, and our chances of winning this have improved.
Wei: Please remember to send the second installment of my retainer.
