Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Transcript For Strip 1116
Panel 1Exterior of elevated monorail trundling towards a residence tower about two klicks distant.
Zander (from inside monorail car): You haven't said much since art class. Are you burned about Ophelia?
Bok (from inside car): Huh? Ophelia –?
Bok: Ah, no, it's just that I've got other stuff on my mind.
Panel 2
Inside the car, Zander and Bok suddenly lurch forward in their seats.
Zander: What other … AACK!!!
Bok: WHOA!!!
SFX: GRRIIINNNNNNNNNNDDD!!!
Panel 3
Zander peers out the window. Bok is reaching into his rucksack.
Zander: Oh, shuck me. Another power failure.
Zander: This is ridiculous! We're stuck only a klip or so from the next station!
Bok: We're also the only people in this car. Time to test this little gizmo
Panel 4
Bok is over by the door to the car, holding a small gadget against it, as Zander comes up behind him.
Zander: It should work, of course, but Bok! Where will you go? It's a 50-peter drop straight down!
Bok: We're over a lake here. The water should be nice and deep. I think.
Zander: You're out of your mind!
Panel 5
Zander grabs the tail of Bok's vest, pleading with him. The door is now open, and Bok is pulling the rucksack straps over both shoulders.
Zander: I made that opener for emergencies! What will I tell the Corbots?
Bok: This IS an emergency. I've got stuff to do and no time to waste.
Bok: If anyone asks tell 'em the door popped open by itself.
Panel 6A
Bok dives out of the monorail car as Zander calls after him.
Zander: BOK!
Panel 6B
Bok dives into the lake, making a substantial splash.
SFX: Sploosh!
