Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Transcript For Strip 1286
Panel 1Alyss and Hayami in the workshop. Hayami is standing/leaning against a slightly reclined board. Alyss is accessing a panel on Hayami's belly.
Hayami: Anyway, we went to the secondary shelter and I expected the hopper to have come there for us, but no such luck.
Alyss: The medi-bot put me in an induced coma while it tended my injuries. I couldn't send the hopper back.

Alyss has extended a cable from a nearby console and is plugging it into Hayami's belly.
Hayami: Why didn't you come back for us before returning to Oz?
Hayami: I spent a whole day in a cave with my charges wondering if we'd be rescued.
Alyss: I … I thought you'd been captured by the Zytemonde Central Intelligence.

Hayami and Alyss. Alyss looks contrite but Hayami is smiling.
Alyss: I was planning a more intensive rescue mission and sent Michael back with the cruiser to reconnoiter.
Hayami: Yeah, he found us in the cave.
Alyss: I … I'm sorry I didn't come for you right away.
Hayami: I'll forgive you if you fork over some hazardous-duty pay.
