Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Transcript For Strip 136
Panel 1Inside the nightclub, Buford is seated at the bar. The crowd is a mix of a few Beltapes and a greater number of somewhat seedy-looking 'normals' of various ethnicities. The bartender (a 'normal') is serving her a drink (a frozen margarita). Loud music fills the air.
SFX: Loud music

Panel 2
A young male Beltape, drink already in hand, seats himself next to Buford, and chats her up. She is receptive albeit somewhat guarded.

Panel 3
The young male Beltape, drink still in hand, leans forward to say something into Buford's ear. Her eyes go wide.
SFX: Loud music

Panel 4
Buford slaps the male Beltape; his drink hand jerks upward, sending its contents flying over his shoulder.
SFX: Loud music

Panel 5
A largish 'normal' male, who had been behind the male Beltape, his face covered in liquid, angrily confronts the male Beltape, who in turn bares his teeth at the 'normal.' Buford sips her drink as she wathce the unfolding drama

The aggrieved 'normal' punches the male Beltape, who recoils a bit from the blow, bumping into Buford, whose drink goes flying over her shoulder.
SFX: Loud music

Panel 7
The melee ensues, another female Beltape (with liquid on her face and upper chest) punching Buford, the male next to Buford exchanging blows with the aggrieved large 'normal' male, and several figures in the background throwing punches, drinks, chairs.

The police arrive, clad in body armor, helmets, and electric gauntlets that can subdue even the toughest Beltape. They charge into the crowd, punching/electrifying everything that moves. The riotous patrons recoil in fear but cannot escape the onslaught.
