A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Murphy: And where is Barbara?

Eithne: I … I'm Eithne. Don't you recognize me?
Eithne: Gran'ma Barbara sent me. She had to go to Gabriola to help my mother with the new baby. She said it would be okay.
Eithne: She left a message for you in your inbox. I hope you're not mad.

Hugo is holding fingers to his temple as he looks off into space. Murphy takes one of the drinks from Eithne's tray.
Hugo: Yes, there's the message. Egads, we've missed three years?
Murphy: Time flies when you've been dead.
Murphy: Thank you, sweetie. And sorry for yelling.
