Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Now dressed in a somewhat flashier style, Diana is emerging from her flycar parked in front of a flashy nightclub with a sign reading 'Pé do Clube.' (Club Foot)
Caption: Juan knew he'd never solve this case without me so I was able to negotiate a big fat bonus, along with a reasonable raise.
Caption: Case-law reading could wait. This was a night to celebrate.
Panel 2
Just inside the club entrance, Diana is 'parking' her flycar by shoving the briefcase into a slot in a wall with dozens of similar slots. A sign reads, 'Estacionamento.'
Caption: Pé do Clube isn't far from home and usually had one of my favorite Spinners on deck.
Caption: It also has such a varied clientele that, well, it's hard to feel out-of-place when everyone around you else is, too.
Panel 3
Medium-distance shot of Diana dancing her ass off on the dance floor. In the foreground, we see a group of Coneheads chatting with each other. Other guests in the club are all very diverse.
Caption: It was a good place to mingle, but I'm not much of a mingler.
Caption: I just like to dance.
Panel 4
Looking past the Coneheads, at a corner of the bar, we see a silhouetted figure watching the dance floor. He's wearing a hat tall enough to conceal a cone-head.
Caption: Most people ignore me gyrating on the dance floor.
Caption: Some watch me. Some proposition me.
Caption: I don't care, I just come here to dance.
