Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Alyss is facing a monitor which has Diana's image on it.
Diana (electronic): Oh, hey, I finally got past your palace guard!
Alyss: Um, hi. Ah, why didn't you call me on my private line?
Diana: Oh! Well, as it happens I lost your telecode.
Panel 2
Angle view on Alyss, with Michael in the background, both looking suspicious.
Alyss: Lost my telecode? From your cortical implant?
Diana (OP, electronic): Well, I basically lost the implant, as it happens.
Diana: Long story. Can we meet?
Panel 3
Cut to Diana holding a screen. Alyss is on the screen but we can't see at this angle. Diana is looking slightly discomfited.
Alyss (from screen): Yes, definitely. Ah ...
Alyss: ...You remember the place where I met with you and Juan Gómez way back when?
Diana: Ah, lemme think … D.O.M.5, right?
Panel 4
Cut back to Alyss, signing off. Her expression is a mix of worry and intrigue.
Alyss: That's the place. Can you make it at 12? The place should be quiet then.
Diana: Sure, no problem. See you there.
Alyss (thought): But who will I really be seeing?
