Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Cut to: Li’s ship, at station-keeping just outside Bubbleopolis.
Caption: Meanwhile, just outside the city:
Li (from ship): Senhor Bolivar, I believe it’s time you transmitted the final entry codes.
Panel 2
Inside the ship, Li and Bok are seated a couple of meters apart in a control room.
Bok: I will, but first I want you to tell me your story.
Bok: Bear in mind that if we linger here very long it will arouse suspicion.
Li: {sigh} Very well. But this is not for publication.
Panel 3
Bok and Li
Bok: I … I’ll agree to embargo the story until after this war is over.
Li: You know, I could shove you out an airlock and then find some other way in.
Panel 4
Bok leans back in his seat, completely at ease.
Bok: Nahh. If you were willing to kill me you’d have done that back on New Charleston.
Li: Damn, son, you know how to play hard-ball. Are you sure you’re only 27?
