Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Nicole is walking several meters out from the star cruiser, carrying a large bag that’s almost too large for her to manage. Bri follows along, carrying a much smaller bag.
Nicole: Hmf! I think this is far enough.
Bri: Are we going camping now?
Panel 2
Nicole has set the bag down, and is pulling part of a large cloth out of it.
Nicole: Right now we’re setting up a tent.
Nicole: Set that bag down and help me anchor this corner.
Panel 3
They have laid out the large layered cloth in a 5-sided shape roughly 3x4 meter square.
Nicole: Okay, after I hammer this anchor into the ground, you stand on it here, hold it down while I pull the others taut.
Panel 4
Now all 4 corners of the cloth are anchored down, Nicole is holding a device that had been in the (now opened) small bag.
Caption: A few more minutes later:
Nicole: Now, stand back while I activate this thing.
Panel 5
The tent ‘pops’ into its full configuration
SFX POOFF!
Panel 6
Bri stands admiring the new erection. Nicole holds open a door flap, so as to enter the tent.
Bri: Well, that’s that.
Nicole: Not quite. We have to erect the partitions, set up the lights, and plug in the local power source for the perimeter web.
