Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
The cruiser is now approaching the Situs’ homestead. We can see the house, the shipping container, and the landing pad, now covered with mud. The tent is nowhere to be found. Alyss narrates from a cameo.
Alyss: We departed the Weinsteins shortly thereafter, exchanging contact codes and promising to keep in touch.
Nicole: Catch you later, Alexandra, we’re about to land.
Warren (from the cruiser): Uh, where’s the tent?
Panel 2
The family disembarks, descending the gangway to the landing platform. Li leads.
Li: Everyone watch your step! The mud will be slippery.
Brielle: Yuck! I hate mud.
Panel 3
Li and Warren are next to the cargo container. A water mark is visible at about two meters.
Warren: Well, I’m glad we shut the door. Look how high the water got.
Li: Let’s see if that door was water-tight.
Panel 4
Gallons of water pour out of the opened door.
Li: Merda!
Warren: I guess not.
Panel 5
Nicole and Brielle are at the partially-constructed house. They observe high-water marks just above the window levels.
Nicole: Caralho!
Brielle: You said cussing was the habit of a lazy mind.
Panel 6
As before, as Nicole opens the front door, water comes flowing out (but not so much as with the cargo container).
Brielle: Merda!
Nicole: You’re in luck! All you’ll have to do is mop the floors.
Brielle: Ma-máááá!
