Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Cut to Alyss and her grandkids
Dieter: Why not just use the Displacement engine to swap-out clean drywall for the moldy parts?
Alyss: {sigh} Oh, you clever boy.
Panel 2
Close up on Alyss
Alyss: Remember this was 400 years ago, and Displacement tech wasn’t so advanced then.
Alyss: We could move things anywhere, but swapping-out one thing, attached to other things, for another was … well, let me continue the story.
Panel 3
Nicole is flying again in her new flyer
Alyss: I told Alexandra I had a possible solution, but I needed to do some research.
Alyss: She agreed to ride herd on our growing list of complainants in the meantime.
Panel 4
Nicole is at home at her desk/console dictating a letter.
Nicole: Send message to Stephanie Vehil 387:
Nicole: Hey Mija, I need your help with a project.
Panel 5
Nicole:
Nicole: I’m looking for a way to swap out the creamy peanut butter in a PB&J sandwich for the crunchy kind without pulling the bread slices apart …
Nicole: And, preferably, without disturbing the jelly too much.
Nicole: Do you think this is do-able? Please advise.
Panel 6
Nicole finishes dictating while Brielle enters the room
Nicole: Love you. Mamá.
Brielle: Mamááá! Warren locked himself in the bathroom again!
