A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Looking from behind Nicole and Bustamante, we see an unexpectedly male face appear on the bench screen -- broad, heavy-browed, with thick, grey-flecked hair combed staight back. A bailiff stands beside the bench, announcing.
Bailiff: Oyyeh, oyyeh, now comes the honorable Judge Antonio Neopolitan, presiding over this court.

Two-shot of Nicole and Bustamante. Bustamante looks surprised. Nicole glances sideways at him.
Neopolitan (OP) (filtered): I know my presence here may be disconcerting for some.
Neopolitan: My colleague, Judge Clara Neopolitan, has had to excuse herself due to a family emergency and I will be taking this case.
