Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Transcript For Strip 402
Panel 1Cut to: The outskirts of Aldrinopolis, during day/gloom, a police cruiser soars over the edge-city-scape. There are two cops inside.
Voice from in cruiser: Busted two pay-grades and banished to the outer suburbs! Is this what they call justice?
Other voice: AI CAME VRY CLOSE 2 JUS TURNIN IN MAH BADGE, U KNOE.
Panel 2
Interior of the cruiser, we see it is the same two cops who busted Nicole way back around strip 310.
Female cop: Oh, really? And what would you do for a living?
Male cop: YA, THAZ TEH CONSIDERASHUN DAT STOPPD ME. THAR ISNT ANOTHR JOB DAT SUITS ME BETTR THAN DIS WAN.
Panel 3
Same shot, now the male cop is suddenly alerted to something going on outside.
Female cop: Same here -- also, the police pension is just too sweet a deal to walk away from.
Male cop: I GUES WELL JUS HAS 2 -- HAY, WUT WUZ DAT?
Panel 4
Exterior: Someone in a Bubb swoops and loops around them, practically taunting the cops. We can see a figure riding in it but can't make out who it is.
Female cop: Another joy-rider in a damn Bubb!
Male cop: LETS NAIL DIS TRAFFIC-TERRORIST!
Panel 5
The Bubb straightens its course and soars skyward, leading the cruiser high over the city outskirts.
Female: How high can those Bubbs go?
Male: IM GONNA KATCH HIM BEFORE HE FINDZ OUT.
Panel 6
The Bubb suddenly loops back and alights atop one of the cruiser's impeller-intakes, instantly destabilizing it. We can see its occupant now -- a dummy made up to look like Nicole. The cops panic.
Male: O FUCK!
Female: Get it off! Get it off!
Panel 7
The cruiser plummets thousands of meters in a spiral.
Male: AI CANT!
Female: Then we're going to die!
Male: Noooooooooo!
Panel 8
Cut to: Seamus' stateroom on the cruiser going to Mars. He's sitting in a reclining chair, with his feet up, his head supported, hands across his belly, smiling contentedly. From the doorway, Buford and Nicole peer in at him curiously.
Caption: Five million kilometers away:
Buford: Is he sleeping or in deep concentration?
Nicole: That smile suggests he's having a sexy dream -- better leave him be.
