Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Transcript For Strip 468
Panel 1Still in the examining room -- Nicole, Buford, Dr. Lee. Lee is injecting something into Buford's lower back.
Nicole: So, what now?
Dr. Lee: For the nanites to have their best effect, she should lie still for at least 12 huoke.
Panel 2
Same shot, Nicole is alarmed, Dr. Lee presses a button on a nearby wall console.
Nicole: Twelve huoke! That's almost three hours!
Dr. Lee: We will transport your friend to a recovery room, no problem.
Panel 3
Closer 2-shot on Nicole and Buford.
Nicole: Um, I hope you don't mind if I take Ventura to do some shopping?
Buford: Why should I mind if you have fun while I'm stuck here?
Panel 4
Nicole hands over her personal Screen, which is presently smart-phone sized.
Nicole: Here, you can have my Screen. I've got a ton of vids on it, or you can pull in 'casts from anywhere in the System.
Nicole: I've set it to 'haptic' so you can navigate with the touchscreen.
Panel 5
An orderly (male Beltape) has entered the room, to cart Buford away, as she regards the Screen ruefully. Dr. Lee is pulling a sheet over her exposed torso.
Buford: Thag am grateful for shiny bauble. Thag will make sacrifice to great medicine woman.
Dr. Lee: Please take Ms. Beltrán to recovery room 4.
Panel 6
The orderly and Buford (with her examining table) have exited, leaving Nichole looking despondent, and Dr. Lee.
Dr. Lee: You may settle the account with the front desk now or after you return for your friend.
Nichole: Th-thanks.
Panel 7
Nicole and Ventura emerge from the entrance to the clinic. Nicole is looking sullen.
Ventura: We are just leaving Buford here?
Nicole: She needs three hours for her cure to take. We'll be back to collect her later.
Panel 8
Their taxi rises from the curb into the traffic stream.
Victoria: Is she not supposed to be your bodyguard? How can she guard you now?
Nicole: Aw, don't worry. I have my zringer and I have you, right?
