A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Nicole: I want to get something nice for Seamus. Do you think he'd like this?
Ventura: I don't know -- what sort of decorations does he have in his home?

In a different part of the shop, Nicole is examining an ornate jewelry box.
Nicole: What about this jewelry box?
Ventura: Does Dr. O'Murchadha own much jewelry?

In yet another part of the shop, Nicole is examining a small, chromed replica of the Mars Curiosity Rover.
Nicole: Hey -- the Curiosity Rover. Seamus likes historical stuff.
Ventura: Yes. He can have a replica of one of my ancestors to remember me by.

Nicole casts a curious glance at Ventura. Ventura smiles sweetly.
Nicole: Your ancestor?
Ventura: Did you not know? The first Huoxingese colonists were robots. The humans came later.
