A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1The Farmer and the children are arrayed in alternating rows, digging their planting stations. The lines of stations are arranged in pairs. Nicole has one other child working part of the pair behind her, facing away, and another working the other half of her pair in front, facing toward her.
Nicole: I must be out of my mind, putting up with this.
Panel 2
The child working in front of Nicole 'accidentally' knocks some dirt into the hole Nicole has just dug.
Nicole: Ow! Hey!
Child 1: Oops! Soooory!
Panel 3
The child working behind Nicole 'accidentally' jabs Nicole in the ribs with her hoe handle.
Nicole: Watch it!
Child 2: Oops! Soooory!

Nicole, angered, drops her hoe and turns around to grab the other child.
