Quantum Vibe

A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Quantum Vibe: Château Périlleux - By Scott Bieser w/Lea Jean Badellas & Gus Mendes

Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]

The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.

Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.

(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Thanks to all for supporting this Kickstarter!

Transcript For Strip 6

Panel 1
Nicole leans against the desk next to the shelves where she found the Screen with Philbert's note. Don't forget to include the plushie-toy still on the shelf.
Note (continues): the dream I've been striving for all these years. I'll always remember our time together fondly but it's best to make a clean break.

Panel 2
Medium close-up of Nicole. She's somewhat in shock. The note concludes.
Note: Be well,
– Philbert
P.S. Sorry I couldn't help with this month's rent.

Panel 3
Medium shot of Nicole. She lays the Screen down on the desk. She is completely shell-shocked, staring straight ahead wide-eyed.
No dialog.

Panel 4
She picks up the plushie toy from the shelf next to her, she addresses it as if she's talking to Philbert.
Nicole: This is a joke, right? How could this be real?

Panel 5
Clutching the plushie to her bosom with her right hand, she holds her left hand up to the side of her head in tel-convo mode. She's making another call to Philbert.
Nicole: I know you'll answer this time, Philbert.

Panel 6
Nicole gets Philbert's 'not available' message (for the first time we hear the other side of a tel-convo). Tears start to form in Nicole's eyes.
Electronic voice: This is Philbert, can't talk now, please leave a message, then take a bow – beep

Panel 7
Clutching the plushie even tighter to her bosom, Nicole leaves a message
Nicole: Philbert – honey? It's Nicole. Is this for real? Can … can we talk about it? Please tel me back.

Panel 8
Full-length shot of Nicole leaning against the desk, now holding the plushie with both hands and looking at it, her lip quivering and tears streaming down her face. The background is blacked-out to symbolize her feeling of despair and isolation.
Nicole: Please?
