A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1On the control deck – Capt. Santos, FM Mueller, and Chief Bartoli are on high alert at their monitor consoles.
Mueller: I've got three corsairs coming in fast – 1000 klicks at 2 o'clock high!
Santos: Why didn't we see them coming sooner?
Mueller: I don't know! It's not my fault!
Panel 2
Santos barks out orders.
Santos: Bartoli! Get a target lock!
Santos: And bring us about – maybe we can nail them with our engine exhaust.
Bartoli: Aye, Captain.
Panel 3
Another officer – Second Mate Strider – appears in the hatchway.
Strider: Chief Steward reports all passengers in their safe areas.
Santos: Very good, Strider – assist Mueller at the weapons console.
Strider: Aye, Captain.
Panel 4
Mueller is in a near panic. Strider gives him a look, Santos is stern.
Mueller: Oh, ghodd! They're avoiding the exhaust stream!
Strider: They're too maneuverable, Captain.
Santos: Strider! Bring cannon to bear! Bartoli! X-axis spin!
