Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Nicole's avatar kneels to face the doll.
Nicole: So what exactly are you, anyway? Are you Murphy's 'inner child?'
Doll: I don't know, I've always been here.
Panel 2
Hoisting the doll onto her hip, Nicole begins walking along the corridor.
Nicole: I guess the thing to do is find Murphy's adult avatar.
Doll: Avatar?
Panel 3
Murphy's avatar is standing atop a grassy hillock under an alien sky, in a standing yoga pose, looking very serene. We can see Nicole and the Doll as tiny figures in the distance.
Caption: 87,500 milli-seconds later:
Nicole: There you are.
Panel 4
Murphy relaxes into a normal standing position as Nicole walks up with the doll.
Murphy: No matter where I go, here I am.
Nicole: I found your Inner Child, here, in the motivator section, shorting out a pair of Čapek nodules.

Nicole hands the doll to Murphy.
Murphy: I see. Please give her to me.
Doll: Are you my mommy?

Murphy turns around holding the doll in extended arms over a well that has suddenly instantiated behind her. Nicole is flummoxed.
Murphy: No, I'm not.
Panel 7
Murphy drops the doll down the well. Nicole goggles.
Doll: AIEEEEEeeeeeee …..
Panel 8
Murphy calmly walks past Nicole, who is outraged.
Nicole: WHAT THE SHUCK?
Murphy: That was a virus.
Murphy: I don't have an 'inner child.'
