Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
Adileh claps her hands and her attendants come to attention.
Adileh: Jan! Jace! Bring refreshment for our guests.
Adileh: And then leave us. This is a personal visit.
Panel 2
The attendants momentarily absent, Adileh stands in front of her sofa, which has begun sinking into its platform.
Adileh: Bear with me a sec while I re-configure the room.
Seamus: By all means.
Panel 3
Comfortable-looking chairs along with convenience-tables, arranged in an inward-facing circle, have emerged from the floor. Adileh, Seamus and Murphy begin to seat themsevles.
Adileh: This is much better.
Adileh: The Padishah Empress bit is a running gag we have.
Murphy: I was beginning to think I was back on Huoxing.
Panel 4
The attendants bring drinks and hors d'ouvres on trays. Adileh is relaxed, laughing.
Adileh: Haha! I suppose my poor immitation of pomp and circumstance can't impress the former concubine of Po Xu-ke, huh?
Murphy: I think of myself as his widow.
Adileh: And you have every right to, my dear, every right.
