Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Panel 1
The outer door to the airlock is open, and we see Nicole and Murphy standing inside. Nicole has her SD jacket in enviro-suit mode, Murphy is projecting a simple body-suit, and her ruck-sack.
Murphy: Now remember, there is very little natural gravity outside this airlock.
Nicole: Yeah, between 1.7 and 2.1 centi-gravs.* I've activated the 'Gekko plates' in my boots.
Caption: * 1 'grav' = 1 meter/sec/sec
Panel 2
Nicole and Murphy gingerly walk across the rough, icy/rocky surface.
Nicole: How far until we get to the 'runway?'
Murphy: Another 100 meters. Please keep up, timing will be critical.
Nicole: No kidding.
Panel 3
Nicole listens as Murphy continue their walk.
Nicole: Um, I've been wondering … how much of Seamus' memory is in you now?
Murphy: I have all the equations and data he's accumulated regarding the Project.
Murphy: Uploaded during that big smooch yesterday.
Panel 4
Nicole and Murphy.
Nicole: Yeah, I figured that. But, anything else?
Murphy: Pretty much everything that's happened since you two left L-5 City together.
Nicole: I thought there'd be, well, more.
Panel 5
Murphy and Nicole stand before a flat area. Murphy hands the ruck-sack to Nicole.
Nicole: I sense a shift in your personality.
Murphy: We'll have to discuss that later.
Murphy: We're at the runway, and our window starts in 10 seconds. Get ready.
Panel 6
Nicole, now wearing the ruck-sack, has climbed onto Murphy's back, legs wrapped around Murphy's waist, hands grabbing Murphy's breasts.
Murphy: Um ...
Nicole: Sorry, best way I can hold on.
Murphy: Alright, whatever you do, don't move.
Panel 7
Murphy begins running, fast, along the flat surface, leaning far forward. We can see some spikes coming out of her feet, digging into the icy surface for traction.
Murphy: NOW!!!
Panel 8
Murphy launches into space, Nicole clinging to her back.
Nicole (thought): FEEK FEEK FEEK FEEK FEEK FEEK ….
