A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1On the bay floor, Hugo and Murphy see that a gangway has been lowered from underneath the ship, as if to invite them up.
Hugo: Hmm. Gangway extended.
Murphy: Allowing us to board without a security code.
Hugo: Well, we might as well go and face the inevitable.
Panel 2
They are nearly into the control room. We can see the blank screen as before. But there's a chair in the middle of the room, with its back to us.
Murphy: I don't recall there being a chair in the control room.
Hugo: That's because there wasn't one.
Murphy: Because androids don't need chairs.
Panel 3
The chair swivels around to reveal Eithne sitting in it, with a shit-eating grin.
Murphy: Well, what a surprise.
Eithne: How do you like my new starship?
Hugo: It has too many chairs.
