Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter Success! [ May 13, 2025 ]
The Not-Safe-Space 2 Kickstarter Campaign has ended successfully. Thanks to all who pledged!
Now we get to wait 2 weeks while Kickstarter transmits the funds, and Scott can order the books, and send surveys to backers to get current e-mail addresses for the .PDF versions and mailing addresses for the physical books.
Panel 1
They're on a broad balcony projecting from the rear of the building, overlooking a garden. DeClayre gestures towards one of the two chairs flanking a small, round table.
Caption: Naturally, she chose to put us outside under that too-bright sky.
DeClayre: Please make yourself comfortable. Otto will attend to us presently.
Caption: I could have pulled out a hat or eyeshades, or asked to convene indoors.
Panel 2
DeClayre and Diana are seated at the table. Otto approaches. Otto looks like a 14-year-old boy, which he in fact is. Blond and just a bit rounded.
Caption: But I didn't want to betray a weakness at first meeting.
DeClayre: We have a specialty beverage, a mango-citrus sparkler, produced from our own farm.
DeClayre: Would you like to try some with me? It's very refreshing.
Panel 3
The drinks have been delivered … Diana and DeClayre each have a glass, and there's a half-empty pitcher of same on the table. Otto stands by, staring at Diana. She doesn't seem to notice.
Caption: Shortly:
DeClayre: She disguised herself as a human? That's … generally frowned upon here.
Diana: So I've learned. But obviously it was necessary for her task.
Diana: Rob … Arti-folk are a separate, ruling elite on my homeworld.
Panel 4
Same shot, as Diana sips her drink.
DeClayre: And Alyss thought she could fix that all by her lonesome?
DeClayre: Mind you, I adore Alyss Roaz but sometimes she falls into hubris.
Caption: I must admit, I liked Lorelei right off the bat.
