Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Panel 1
Byron interviews Lorelei and Diana. Lorelei interrupts Diana.
Byron: So, Diana, how did this situation with Smith & Holder develop?
Diana: Well, I just went in to the office where I work and there were ...
Lorelei: Diana was confronted by an S&H agent who shouldn't even be living in this city, let alone as a security officer.
Panel 2
Lorelei and Diana. Again Lorelei interrupts.
Diana: Well, at first it was two other agents who said they were there about ...
Lorelei: The two classic agents behaved professionally, of course.
Diana: Well, not so much at first, but I managed to sort it ...
Panel 3
Lorelei and Diana. Diana is getting somewhat annoyed.
Lorelei: Some people don't want to hear about it when one of them brutalizes a youngling.
Diana: Actually, as you measure years here I'm 20.
Lorelei: That overpowered beltape grabbed Diana's arm with both arms and snapped it like dry asparagus!
Panel 4
Pull back again to include Byron in the shot. Lorelei has her arms crossed. Diana is looking at her oddly.
Byron: So you're suggesting that security agencies should not hire beltapes?
Byron: It's not some more general corruption within the industry?
Lorelei: I think beltapes are the corruption of our security agencies.
Caption: Lorelei was using an older, rather rude pronunciation of the word usually pronounced 'bel-toppays' in modern Portanglish. Byron seemed a bit put off.
