A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Diana and Zander.
Diana: I see no need to hack into another system. For now, anyway.
Diana: What about the names I gave you? Did you find anything?
Zander: Nothing on 'Older,' and zippo on 'Château Périlleux.'

Zander: But 'Older' might be a truncation of 'Holder,' as in 'Smith & Holder,' you know.
Diana: Perhaps. But what about 'Belbenoit'?
Zander: There, I struck paydirt.

Zander manifests a holo-image of Belbenoit, who we've seen before.
Zander: Belbenoit is a senior field agent, some 45 years with Smith & Holder. He pre-dates Sergio Cooper, even.
Zander: First name is René but he prefers the nickname 'Didi' for some reason.
Zander: He also falls into the 'once associated with RPLD' category.
Zander: His record indicates he's the sort they send in to deal with particularly rough situations, sports-ball riots, that sort of thing.

Diana: I … know that face.
Diana: I saw him in a crowd at an RPLD event, so he's very much still associated with that group.
Diana: And I've seen him before that … but I can't remember where.
