Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Still waiting for Dominic by the hopper landing.
Diana: So this grand-son of yours can tell you whether there's a real threat here?
Alyss: If anyone can. Dominic knows more about the current state of shield tech than anyone, myself included.
Alyss: Just not a whole lot about anything else.
Panel 2
Close 2-shot of Diana and Alyss.
Diana: Is he some sort of savant?
Alyss: Of some sort, yes.
Alyss: Dominic is brilliant as well as quick-witted but … he doesn't know or care much about boundaries.
Panel 3
Diana looks at Alyss worriedly.
Diana: Uh … what do you mean?
Alyss: Ah … 'edge-lord' doesn't really quite fit, but he's a combination of quick-witted and completely shameless.
Alyss: Although he can be somewhat amusing when one is not the target of his barbs.
Panel 4
Zoom back a bit to reveal Dominic walking bent-legged out of the opened hopper.
Dominic: What's amusing is the girl I left to answer your summons is named 'Barb.'
Dominic: I hope this doesn't take long, I left her meter running.
Dominic: So, is this a real emergency or did you lose the key to your liquor cabinet again?
