A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Hernandez: I have some friends I'd like you to meet.

Pandora shakes hands with Seamus, as Hernandez stands to the side.
Pandora: You need no introductions, Dr. O'Murchadha.
Pandora: It was your book on cyber-linguistics that inspired me to study advanced cryptography.

Pandora blushes a bit as Hernandez explains her importance.
Hernandez: Pandora doesn't just manage our comm network, she is the network.
Hernandez: I'd never be able to manage this menagerie without her.

Seamus waxes eloquent, although it falls a bit flat with Pandora. Behind Seamus, Murphy and Nicole exchange thoughtsend barbs.
Seamus: It is often true that behind every great man is a woman making things possible for him.
Murphy (thoughtsend): I wonder how many other women are standing behind him.
Nicole (thoughtsend): Shut up.
